Another go with the DMK21 and 2x Cemax barlow. Lots of small proms today but these two big ones stole the show.

I caught some very fine proms today. I had to over expose the main brighter prom to capture them. These images all look similar, but look closely and you can see the changes. All taken within 10 minutes of each other. Quite active indeed!

Some changes in the proms today.

Proms 020908

These two image were taken 20 minutes apart with a DMK21 and no barlow. The change in the prom in this short period of time is very obvious.

A few proms

Some poor seeing today with a hazy sky but I caught some nice proms.

Very poor seeing today, a short break in the coud enabled me to catch some proms

Some are calling this a small sunspot - other call it an active region. Either way, there has been some change since yesterday!

PST Focus Knob CNC upgrade

My upgrade focus knob arrived today from Criterion Machine Co in West Virginia, USA. It is nicely machines in aluminium, coloured gold and slips over the normal focusser so no actual mods to the PST are required. A small grub screw holds it in place and an allen key is included. It cost $20USD and I am very happy with it. It makes reaching focus a painless experience.
